Longform video, photo and text – Work in progress

About thirty kilometers from Dakar, Bargny, Lebou village located on the south coast of the Cape Verde peninsula, is well on the way to become the new industrial suburb of Dakar. Trapped between the consequences of the industrialization of the 18th and 19th century (with the rise of the sea relating to the climate change) and the forced overthrow towards an industrialization of their village (with the cement factory Sococim, the construction of a coal power station and the future establishment of the new mineral port), people are forced to live daily with these threats on their doorstep.
